ORIENTATION TOOL — NOT A LEGAL ASSESSMENTNEEDS REVIEW

Could my product fall within the CRA?

Answer ten questions about one product. For each answer you will see what it means for the analysis under Regulation (EU) 2024/2847 (the Cyber Resilience Act), with the provisions to read. At the end you get a list of considerations to examine — not a conclusion.

This is an orientation tool prepared by regulation-cra.eu. It does not give a verdict on whether the Regulation applies, does not establish compliance or exemption and is not legal advice. It covers the main questions of Articles 2, 3, 7, 8 and 24 and Recitals 11, 12 and 18 only; delegated and implementing acts and official guidance may change the analysis. Your answers stay in your browser: they are not sent to or stored by regulation-cra.eu.

Is what you supply a software or hardware product, or a software or hardware component placed on the market separately?

Article 3, point (1), defines a 'product with digital elements' as a software or hardware product and its remote data processing solutions, including software or hardware components being placed on the market separately.
